Ocean Beaches Glassblowing and Gallery
Ocean Beaches Glass was started by Bob Meyer in 2005 as a small studio in an old shed. It didn't take long to realize the business needed to be closer to the highway (Hwy. 101) to attract adequate attention, so Bob and Vicki prepared for the move.
Excavation began in late 2006, the building went up in July, 2007, and the business moved into the new building in December of 2007, then becoming "Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery".
Vicki Meyer (below) has also become more active in the operation of the business as it has grown. She does some glass fusing, so her work is on display here. She's also the one you can credit with arranging the displays and coordinating the new artwork coming in. Bob continues to blow glass and run all the other aspects of the business.
Along the way, we've found that a wealth of artistic talent exists in the Central Oregon Coast! We first discovered a handful of painters that live right in our neighborhood. Shortly after, a couple of stained glass artists showed up, then a couple of fused glass artists, a few torchworkers - and pretty soon we had a nicely rounded variety of mediums - and virtually all created by Oregon artists!
